Irreverent Warriors of Jacksonville NC’s Silkies Hike – Saturday, April 9

Irreverent Warriors of Jacksonville, NC brings veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health and prevent veteran suicide. They are a registered non-profit 501c3.  Irreverent Warriors hike for the 22 service members that commit suicide daily.  The number is actually higher and the goal is to end it ALL TOGETHER.

Not all wounds are visible. That brother or sister that you hug just because they are down can save their life. RAIN SLEET OR SNOW, Irreverent Warriors hike in the name of Suicide Awareness.

Who can physically hike?

While we encourage families to come to support our veterans at the hike, the hike itself is for veterans, active and reserve, service members only.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes!

Dogs must be well behaved and a SERVICE ANIMAL (not an emotional support dog) as it has the training to be around large groups and lots of noise. Also, some of the establishments along the route only allow service dogs. At NO time are dogs to be left unattended.

Dogs are not allowed off of their leash at any time! Bring Poop Bags!!!!!! Water stations are located throughout the hike for dogs to stay hydrated. Pet owners assume full responsibility for their pets.

Please keep in mind, the hikes take place on the pavement (usually) and in the hot summer sun. Take care of your fur babies!
