Every year, New Orleans Pelicans player and Kinston native, Brandon Ingram and his family give back to families within Lenior County with a back to school book bag giveaway. Due to COVID-19, the back bag giveaway will not be happening this year, but the family is still giving back to the community by donating shoes to the employees of UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston.

About 982 pairs of Adidas shoes passed out the the staff, a total of $85,000.
