The Hill is reporting that ‘The World Health Organization is warning young people that they are not exempt from the risks of the novel coronavirus pandemic that has infected more than 260,000 people and left more than 11,000 others dead.
“Today, I have a message for young people: You are not invincible.” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Friday during a news conference. Initial data from China showed the elderly with other health conditions to be the most vulnerable, but young people — from their early twenties to mid forties — are debunking the theory that younger adults aren’t as impervious to the novel coronavirus that’s circulating worldwide as originally thought.

In Italy, the hardest hit country in Europe, almost a quarter of the nearly 28,000 coronavirus patients are between the ages of 19 and 50, according to data website Statista. In the U.S., of the nearly 2,500 of the first coronavirus cases, 705 adults were aged 20 to 44, this is according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
