Tamekia Swint in Chicago has started her company, Styles 4 Kids, to provide haircare education and services interracial families. Non-black moms and dads who have adopted black children but are having a rough time doing their hair.
Tamekia said she saw this as an opportunity to empower the parents with something they are not familiar with. She now helps more than 500 families across the country, after starting her company in 2010 with just 3 clients.
