Nicki Minaj may be on the receiving end of her bag being stopped. Back in August, Nicki claimed her album was being delayed for a second time as her team worked to get Tracey Chapman’s sample cleared. Chapman claims she turned down the request multiple times since June 2018.
A couple of months ago, Nicki and Nas released the track, “Sorry,” which samples Chapman’s popular song from 1988, “Baby Can I Hold You.” Chapman says she never gave Nicki clearance to use it. She is now suing Nicki for financial compensation, and also wants to prohibit Nicki from releasing the track again, even though it was pulled from her album, Queen.
