Meals to be given out to hurricane victims today

Volunteers across the East are cooking meals for hurricane victims.

In Carteret County:

  • White Oak Church of God – 5054 Hwy 24, Newport NC (Town of Bogue on Hwy 24)
  • First United Methodist Church – 900 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC
  • Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church – 85 Hwy 70, Smyrna, NC

Each of these sites will have 200 meals, with deliveries estimated between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM for lunch and 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM for dinner. Meals will be first come, first served.

  • Second Baptist Church, 2516 W. 5th Street. Washington, NC 27889  today from 9-9:30 AM, and 3-3:30 PM.

The American Red Cross has requested the feeding kitchens be prepared to serve up to 170,000 meals.

In Beaufort County:

Hot meals will be available for pick up at the following locations beginning to day at 5:30

  • Second Baptist Church 2516 W 5th St. Washington
  • Chocowinity Fire Dept.
  • Aurora at the former Piggly Wiggly parking lot
  • Sidney Fire Dept.
  • Belhaven Fire Dept.
  • Pick Up Times: Monday : 11:30 – 1:30 & 5:30 – 7:30


Temple Baptist Church, 1500 Kingdom Way. New Bern, today from 9-9:30 AM, and 3-3:30 PM
