After the release of Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old black woman sentenced to life in prison for her money laundering involvement in a Memphis cocaine trafficking organization, Kim Kardashian is back to help another inmate.
On Wednesday morning, Kim entered the White House to speak with President Trump once again about prison reform and the possibility of getting Chris Young released, a 30-year-old man sentenced to life in prison for cocaine and marijuana possession. Young has already served 10 years.
Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley gave more insight on the meeting, “Today at the White House, members of the Administration are hosting a listening session about the clemency process. The discussion is mainly focused on ways to improve that process to ensure deserving cases receive a fair review.” Others attending the meeting include Jared Kushner, Van Jones and Judge Kevin Sharp, who sentenced Chris Young.
Kim is looking for Trump to get behind a prison reform legislation that will re-evaluate the sentencing for prisoners to better fit their crimes.
