YG’s wants young girls of diverse backgrounds to have opportunities in the tech world, and he’s writing a $150k check to make it happen. According to TMZ, “The Compton rapper delivered the check to Girl Code LA on Wednesday… a movie inspired his little girl. Girl Code is an L.A. – based organization – founded by Dez White – pushing to develop and expose young women to computer science, business and software engineering.”

He wanted to make sure that all G Code girls walk away with a smile, YG gifted each girl with new “Beats by Dre” headphones.

YG tells TMZ, “With my donation, I hope they’ll be able to expand their reach of future females coders and programmers. I want to make sure I’m doing my part. I got a daughter and I respect the G Code.”

The girls were able to chat with YG and he was able to tell them about the importance of exploring non-traditional career paths.
