Deftones closed out Outbreak Fest’s takeover of All Points East at London’s Victoria Park on August 23, bringing a mix of newer material and longtime fan favorites to the festival’s main stage. The event’s lineup stretched well beyond hardcore, bringing metal, punk, alternative rock, rap and experimental music into the same day.
Across the festival, organizers paired established acts with artists from different corners of heavy and alternative music. IDLES delivered a career-spanning performance that included an unreleased song, while Interpol brought their measured post-punk sound to the outdoor setting.
Deafheaven also drew a strong response inside the North Arena, adding another intense set to a day built around loud, genre-crossing performances. Amyl and the Sniffers, JPEGMAFIA, EsDeeKid, Show Me the Body and Yousuke Yukimatsu were among the other artists featured.
The result was a broad festival lineup that kept Outbreak’s hardcore identity visible while showing how far its musical reach has expanded.
