Cash Money president Birdman has FINALLY decide to apologize to his “son” Lil Wayne after years of legal battles over money he never paid Wayne. Or anyone of Cash Money Records. During Lil Wayne’s annual “Weezyana Fest” in New Orleans, Birdman stood beside Wayne, addressed the crowd and began with “I knew this day was going to come, but I didn’t know when it was going to come.”
He continued with compliments to Wayne and eventually said, “I want to apologize to my n**ga worldwide.” To the apology, Wayne said nothing. The beat dropped and the two went into a performance of “Still Fly.”
Wayne sued Birdman in 2015 for $51 million for violating the terms of his contract and withholding the release of his album, “Tha Carter V.” Wayne wanted out of his contract with Csh Money, along with the declaration of him being the joint copyright owner of all Young Money recordings. In June, the lawsuit was settled with Wayne leaving Cash Money Records and signing his own deal with Universal. The album is set to drop by the end of 2018.
