Trump Claims His “Disinfectant Injection” Idea Was Sarcasm

On Thursday, during a White House COVID-19 briefing, President Donald Trump asked if there were a way to inject humans with disinfectant due to its ability to kill the virus within a minute.

Trump now says he was asking the question to reporters in a sarcastic way just to see what would happen.

Somebody needs to remind him the country is in the middle of a pandemic. This is not the time to be “sarcastic.”

The makers of Lysol have come out to say, “As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route).”

They continue, “As with all products, our disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended and in line with usage guidelines. Please read the label and safety information.”
