Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1–2 jalapeños, finely chopped
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 2 green onions, sliced
- ¼ cup sliced black olives, optional
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
1. Cook the Beef
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess grease, then stir in the taco seasoning according to the packet directions.
2. Make the Creamy Base
In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and creamy.
3. Add the Flavor
Stir in the salsa, diced tomatoes with green chiles, chopped jalapeños, and red onion until everything is evenly combined.
4. Layer the Dip
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into a 9-inch baking dish. Spoon the seasoned beef over the top, then sprinkle with the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
5. Bake Until Bubbly
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and the edges are hot and bubbly.
6. Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and top with green onions, additional jalapeños, and black olives if desired. Serve hot with tortilla chips.
