Time to Expand Your Family and Spread the Love with a Fur Baby!!!

I had the honor of going to the Colonial Capital Humane Society in New Bern. In this spot located on Old Airport Rd, I was able to meet up with one of the board members Diane Cappo and get the inside scoop on the shelter as well as what is to come in the VERY near future.

To start off, there are about 271 total animals counting the ones that are on the property as well as being fostered (we will get into that later). There are 27 kennels that are outside for the dogs and the cats are indoors. This place was established in the mid 1970s and since establish, it has been ran by volunteers and funded by the community, which goes into what is to come for this shelter.

Currently, they are running a campaign called “Endless PAWSibilities Capital Campaign”. This campaign is to help raise money for renovations and build a brand new facility to hold and take care of the animals in. Looking to start Phase 1 or building in April, they are still looking for donations to reach the end goal. You can get the levels of donations and funding on Endless PAWSibilities Capital Campaign (donorview.com)

IF you are unable to give in money, there are other ways you can help this organization. Right now there are animals in there care that are waiting to find their “furever” home. They even encourage fostering if you are unsure about adoption. You can fill out that info on their website at About Colonial Capital Humane Society (wixsite.com). Also would be a nice V-day gift for the boo!

I was curious about what dogs were on the property and as a dog lover myself, I was able to get up close and personal with a couple and I will say, Max and Blue Belle have my heart!
