Purell hand sanatizer is being sued by 4 people in Ohio who claim the Purell packaging is “misleading claims” about the effectiveness of the product.

The label says the product “kills 99.99% of illness causing germs” but that info is not back by scientific support, saying the people suing. The lawsuit also mentions a letter sent by the FDA to Gojo in January, which plaintiffs’ claim describes Purell as “nothing more than a topical antiseptic,” which was not safe and effective in preventing infection.

The class action lawsuit is seeking unspecifed damages for any customer who purchase the hand sanitizer and relied on the packaging.
