With the many sexual assault reports against ride sharing apps, Uber has decided to launch a feature that will allow riders to report a non-emergency safety issue in real-time.

Being in real-time, the new On-Trip Reporting feature will allow more incidents to be reported. After their trip, many are distracted from meeting with friends or going to business meetings, so reporting your recent experience like inappropriate remarks or even harsh breaking may not be on the top of your mind.

Uber aims to encourage people to share feedback when it’s convenient for them, which helps us better pinpoint issues and guide our work on helping to develop safety solutions.

For emergency situations, riders and drivers should contact 911 which users can access on the same screen through the Safety Toolkit.
