President Donald Trump currently has two articles of impeachment against him. On Wednesday, the House will vote to send these articles onto the Senate to start the long-awaited trial against the President. Only the third in American history.

The vote comes nearly a month after Trump was charged with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial would begin in a matter of days. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is meeting with GOP senators on Tuesday to negotiate the terms of the trial.

According to WNCT, GOP senators are conferring privately about whether to allow a motion to dismiss the charges against the president or to call additional witnesses for testimony.
