Meek Mill is now officially a free man! His 2008 gun conviction has been thrown out.

The superior court in Pennsylvania says Meek deserves a new trial to re-fight the case, with a new jury and more importantly, a new judge! Judge Genece Brinkley has been on Meek’s case for the past 10 years. She has given him nothing but hard times.

Meek celebrated on social media writing, “As of right now, I’m not on probation and i am not a felon anymore. I’d like to thank the Pennsylvania Superior Court judges for their wisdom and their transparency in reviewing my case, unanimously overturning my conviction and granting me a new trial.  The past 11 years have been mentally and emotionally challenging, but I’m ecstatic that justice prevailed.” He goes on to thank my family, my attorneys, Jay Z, Desiree Perez, Michael Rubin, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and my supporters who have stood with me through the ups and downs.”

To refresh your memory on Meek’s case, the key eye witness was a known dirty cop. Majority of the cases this cop was involved in were dropped or overturned due to his corruption. All except Meek’s case, which Judge Brinkley would not sign off on.

It was announced today that Meek Mill has partnered with Jay Z & Roc Nation to create Meek’s Dream Chasers label . Paper work was signed o yesterday in New York. Meek will oversee the label and build a staff to sign and develop artists. The label will also handle its own operations, creative strategy, marketing and business affairs. Meek is also planning to open a recording studio for use by the label’s artists.

Congrats to Meek!
