One Injured, One Custody After Greenville Shooting

A person is in custody after a shooting that left a man injured in Greenville Wednesday night, police said.

The Greenville Police Department responded to the Citgo at the corner of Memorial Drive and West 5th Street for the report of shots fired on Wednesday around 8 p.m. Upon arrival, police discovered a male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the ankle.

A short time later, police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect(s)’ vehicle in the area of Dickinson Avenue.

Police arrested one individual and is currently being interviewed by detectives of the GPD’s Major Crimes Unit.

Two nearby buildings were damaged from the gunfire.

No other injuries were reported. Detectives believe it was a targeted incident.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
