We’ve been waiting for so long to hear what Special Counsel Robert Mueller found out while investigating the links between Donald Trump and Russia when it came to his 2016 presidential election. Over the weekend, Attorney General William Barr announced in a 4-page letter to congress that Mueller did not find that Trump or his associates conspired with Russia.
Even though they did not find him guilty, they did not find his innocent either. Mueller’s investigation did not conclude that the President obstructed justice, but it also didn’t exonerate him. Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein made the decision that the evidence was “not sufficient” enough to support prosecuting Trump.
Of course, that is not what Trump heard, since he immediately tweeted, “total EXONERATION.” Calling the investigation “an illegal takedown that failed.” Sources close to the president reassured that Team Trump would “slam and shame” the media during this victorious time.
