Delta Airlines is doing it big for Black History Month! The airline has just partnered with Napa Valley’s first and only black-owned winery, Brown Estate, as a part of their 20-year commitment to supply diversity.

Brown Estate wines will be served on select Delta flights. The partnership was celebrated with a surprise taste testing on a flight this week. The wines will be featured on the Delta One wine menus in the 2019-2020 rotation.

The two wines chosen were Brown Estate’s 2017 Betelgeuse Sauvignon Blanc and 2017 Chaos Theory red blend. The partnership came from one of Delta’s staff, Carlyne Scott, originally starting as a special for Black History Month and turned into a larger partnership.

“Partnering with innovative, diverse suppliers from certified small-, minority- and women-owned businesses like Brown Estate is fundamental to Delta’s strategy to keep climbing year-round,” said Heather Ostis, vice president — Supply Chain Management. “Seeking employee perspectives and leveraging unique ideas brings us closer to meeting that goal, while creating the highest quality experience for our customers.”

Congrats!!!
