Abyjah Moses, 18, is in custody after police say he barricaded himself inside an apartment, causing the complex to be evacuated.
Moses was wanted on a number of charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm into an occupied property and kidnapping. Greenville police officers say they attempted to take Moses into custody at Sunchase Apartments on Greenville Boulevard around 10 p.m. Thursday when he barricaded himself inside the apartment.
Residents in other apartments had to be temporarily evacuated while police used tear gas to end the stand-off. Officers say they found a stolen firearm inside the apartment.
Moses is being held at the Pitt County jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
