This week has been a crazy one for Jussie Smollett. The alleged attackers were caught and then claimed to be paid by Jussie, which he has denied. Now its being reported that Jussie’s screen time for the FOX show “Empire,”has been cut back due to the scandal surrounding the attack.
Jussie was supposed to have 9 scenes and a big musical number in the second last episode. Jussie now only has 4 scenes and no musical number. The remaining scenes will not focus on his character, but he will be in them. Instead of working everyday this week, Jussie is only working Friday with Thursday being a possible and no rehearsing.
This may have to do with his cooperation with the Chicago PD, taking time away from the show. Jussie is not currently a suspect, but prosecutors are asking more questions about Jussie’s relationship with the two brothers.
“Empire” returns of March 13th.
