The body found near the King Street boat ramp in Lenoir County has been identified as a missing truck driver whose 18-wheeler was submerged in the Neuse River, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The driver was identified as 30-year-old Richard White Jr. from Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

The body was discovered near the boat ramp around 9:00 a.m. Saturday by duck hunters, according to Jerri King, interim director with Lenoir County Emergency Services.

In December of last year, multiple agencies searched the Neuse River on Highway 70 in Lenoir County to locate the driver of an 18-wheeler submerged in the body of water.
