Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened here in the east.

Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Greenville police were called to 1105 A Chestnut Street after a report of a stabbing.

They discovered Lamont Parker, 37, suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to Vidant Medical Center where he died.

According to a press release, it appears the victim was at a gathering when a dispute turned physical and it is believed that’s when the victim was stabbed.

No suspect information is being released at this time and an investigation is ongoing.
