Thanksgiving is one of the busiest holidays for travel.  North Carolina State Highway Patrol will be working overtime to make sure
the highways are safe. The State Troopers will be along the highways every 20 miles. There will be a zero-tolerance policy for all traffic
violations including speeding and DUI.

The campaign is being called Drive to zero/Drive to Save Lives. It will begin this Wednesday, November 21 through Sunday, November 25.

The Highway Patrol has some tips to be safe on the road

Reduce Speed
Increase Following Distances
Avoid Distracted Driving
Do not Drive Impaired
Clear the lanes
