ECU wins over Old Dominion University

It took three quarterbacks but ECU beat Old Dominion University 37-35 in Greenville Saturday afternoon. Reid Herring was the started as
expected, but the backup Kingsley Ifedi came in and played some, and the freshman from Greenville Holten Ahlers played also.
Holten Alhers ran a 49-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Pirates 28-27 lead. Reid Herring had 2 inceptions in the game but had
three touchdowns passes and throw for 309 yards.
The defense stepped up in the game with 9 sacks. Last year ECU defense has only 8 sacks all year long. ECU travels to Philadelphia next Saturday to take on the Temple Owls. ECU record is now 2-2. Coach Scottie Montgomery survives another Saturday.
