Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen’ Debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200, Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ Spends Another Week at #1

The first week sales for Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen’ are in and they weren’t enough to knock Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ from the top spot. The set debuted at #2 with 185,500 equivalent album units sold. Travis hold #1 for a second week with 205,000.

Via Billboard, “At No.2 Nicki Minaj’s Queen arrives, granting the artist fourth top-two charting album – extending her own record for the most of any female hip-hop artist. She previously hit the top two rungs with The Pinkprint (No. 2 on the Jan. 3, 2015-dated chart), Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (No.1, April 21,2012) and Pink Friday (No. 1, Feb. 19, 2011).”

While ‘Queen’ launched with 185,000 equivalent album units earned, 78,000 were in additional album sales. ‘Queen’ also was able 7to benefit from sales generated by a concert ticket/ album sale redemption offer with her upcoming co-headinglining tour with Future. The album also debut unite sums is the second-largest week for an album by a female artist in 2018, following the opening frame of Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’.

‘Queen’album had 128.7 million on-demand audio streams for the set’s songs during its debut frame. This is Nicki’s largest streaming week ever for an album.
