Rihanna announced via Twitter (Aug.13) that Issa Rae will host, and Childish Gambino will perform, at this year’s Diamond Ball.

Via Billboard, “The fourth annual fundraising gala will take place on Set. 13 to raise money for the Clara Lionel Foundation, curated by Rihanna in 2012 to improve health, education arts, and culture around the world.” The fourth annual Diamond Ball will take place in New York’s Cipriani’s Wall Street. Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans will receive the fete’s 2018 Diamond Ball Award for his humanitarian efforts to end extreme poverty, climate change and gender inequality around the world.

In a statement released Rihanna says, “Issa Rae ad Childish Gambino were the dream duo for the fourth Annual Diamond Ball and they’re coming. Weare honored and grateful to have them help us celebrate the Clara Lionel Foundation this year.” The Clare Lionel foundation, named after Rihanna’s grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite.
