Demi Lovato’s team attempted to stage an intervention and get her to sobriety just weeks before her overdose, but the singer was not up for the intervention. Via TMZ, “Sources close to Demi tell us members of her team noticed she was in a bad place a few weeks ago, and even confronted her but it. We’re told they offered assistance to get her back to sobriety. The plan was to urge her into a rehab program.”
The intervention was not a success. Demi refused treatment and continued to party. Other resources reported she tied to make it seem like everything was okay, but her struggle became more obvious shortly before her overdose Tuesday.
It was also told Demi and her longtime manager, Phil McIntyre, parted ways a few months back. The reason why Demi and Phil parted has not been stated. However, Phil had a hand in the intervention efforts.
