Essence Festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary on July 4-7, 2019, in New Orleans. this year there were some big headliners. Janet Jackson, Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige were among the headliners earlier this month (July 5-8). This year’s celebration brought in 510,000 attendees. The celebration was marked the first-ever sellout of its three-night concert series.

Essence Communications President Michelle Ebanks said, “The Essence Festival represents culture, community and a powerful convening around one of the largest curated content experiences in the world. As we look forward to the festival’s 25th-anniversary celebration in 2019, we will continue to offer curated platforms of entertainment, empowerment, entrepreneurship. activism and more that will not engage and inspire black women globally.”
