Disney’s New Initiative “Dream Big Princess” is Working Towards Supporting More Female Filmmakers

Female filmmakers do not get enough credit for the work they provide. working in the professional world women have a tougher time; however, Disney wants to make the process more compatible  by launching a new initiative “Dream Big Princess.” According to Variety, Twenty-one women and girls have been chosen by Disney from thirteen different countries to develop digital short films about women who inspire them. Once the project is completed, they will be shared via social media using the hashtag #GreamBigPrincess.

Each project completed will allow Disney to donate $1 to the United Nations Foundation “Girl Up.” The women and girls who were chosen will tell the stories of females in the entertainment, sports, political, science and many more industries. The projects will be filmed on an iPhone X. Also, the ladies will have the opportunity to participate in professional workshops and training sessions from Apple technical experts, mentorship from the female-led production company Summerjax, and meetings with Disney film veterans.
