Around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, a fatal car accident occurred on 5th street in Greenville. A Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided with a Ford Econoline Van, causing the van to overturn. The driver of the Ford, Dan K. Wooten III, 19, of Greenville, later died at the hospital due to his injures. The driver of the Silverado, Gerald L. Outlaw, 50, is still hospitalized.

The road has been reopened. The accident is still under investigation.
