The city of Greenville will be hosting a public town meeting on Monday night at 6p at the City Hall to talk about the new city project, Town Creek Culvert.

This is a $33 million project that will impact uptown Greenville, expecting to reduce flooding in the city due to storms by replacing the main drainage system in the 400 acres of uptown. The project is start over the next few weeks and will take as long as 30 months, or 2.5 years.

The meeting is open to residents, local business owners and anyone else with questions about the project and expected impacts.

The construction will start at the Tar River, not effecting the park and fishing area too much. Third, Fourth and Fifth Streets will be largely affected by the project that will stretch to 9th and Washington Streets. Car and pedestrian traffic will be detoured.
