The day after Florida passes a new legislation allowing teachers to have guns in school, a Georgia teacher is arrested for firing off a gun in a classroom.

The social studies teacher at Dalton High in north Georgia, Randal Davidson, barricaded himself in a classroom, and refused to let students in. When the principal attempted to open the door, Davidson fired a shot at a window in the room. The school immediately went on lockdown. After about 30 to 45 minutes, the teacher surrendered and was taken into custody.

“It certainly seemed like he didn’t have any intention to harm anybody else,” says Bruce Frazier, police spokesman.

No one was injured.
