The G.O.A.T. has done it once again! Lil Wayne has earned his 5th number 1 album on the Billboard 200 with Funeral, selling 139,000 equivalent albums in the U.S. in its first week. This is the rappers 12th top 10, earning his first hit on the Billboard 200 over 20 years ago in 1999 with Tha Block Is Hot, which debuted and peaked at #3.

Wayne previously topped the Billboard 200 with Tha Carter V (2018), Tha Carter IV (2011), I Am Not a Human Being (2010) and Tha Carter III (2008).

With 72% of Wayne’s first week sales being streaming activity, that equals out to 134 million on-demand streams in its first week. About 38,000 hard copies were sold, which is pretty good in the age of streaming.

Funeral’s first-week album sales were bolstered sales from “by a concert ticket/album” sale redemption offer, as well as an array of merchandise/album bundles sold via his website.
