This Friday brought plenty of new music to our playlists!
Ella Mai drops her debut album featuring her hit singles “Boo’d Up” and “Trip”, which has caused a lot of controversy between her and singer Jacquees who did his own remix of the song. To the surprise of Ella Mai and her squad, Jacquees’s version got just as much, play as hers, leading her team to call for the removal of his song from all platforms.
The album includes 16 songs with features from H.E.R., John Legend and Chris Brown.
Usher is BACK! After 2 years of silence, herpes lawsuits and divorce, our favorite 90s singer is back with a surprise album to celebrate his 40th birthday. The album is 8-tracks featuring Future and Gunna, being fully produced by Zaytoven. From the looks of the promo video from Instagram, Usher seems to be living his best life despite the struggles this year has brung. Enjoy!
Quavo, 1/3 of the Migos takes the solo road with his debut solo album Quavo Huncho. The album has plenty of features with 21 Savage, his current tour buddy Drake, his new boo thang Saweetie, Madonna, Cardi B. Takeoff, Lil Baby, and Travis Scott. There is even a song alleged dedicated to the Queen, Nicki Minaj, entitled “Quavo Dreams.” Shots FIRED! A spin-off from Nicki’s most recent, “Barbie Dreams” we can assume.
Last but not least, Shy Glizzy received a lot of attention this year after his fire verse on Goldlink’s summer hit “Crew” which also featured Brent Faiyaz. Taking advantage of the spotlight, Glizzy has been dropping music throughout the year leading up to the album. In March he dropped visuals for “Make It Out” and “Keep It Going”. Last month, the rapper dropped his single “Do You Understand?” featuring Tory Lanez and Gunna, with a video to match. A song I LOVE!!
The album has 19 songs with features from Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Gunna, Smokepurpp and more!
